Message since kryptonite780(sp?) posted pics of his build with these turbos, that inspired me to show some pics of my build too. there's also pacmanZ(sp?) doing a build with these turbos, so that makes 3 of us that I know so far. i bought these turbos over a year ago. this build has been taking a long time because of the chrome fiasco, changing jobs, selling parts to get different ones, and ordering parts from coz every 2 weeks.

see how the passenger side turbo inlet clears the motor mount bracket but the driver side doesn't?

i made my own actuator brackets. well i made prototypes with thin sheet metal and had them made in thicker steel by a welder. it took a bit of trial and error with making prototypes. it has to sit just perfect in this one and only available spot with a narrow margin of 1/8" clearance.

the thin metal template bracket for the driver side I guess was mishandled and got deformed, and the welder made the thicker version from that and its way off. I'm going to get both brackets redone in thicker steel and reinforced.

...

heres my plan for the turbo inlets. im going to have the inlets chopped off the compressor housings and have 90deg aluminum pieces welded on. i could switch to a different housing that has a flange ($$$) but the opening is smaller. i truly believe the inlets on these turbos are huge for a reason, im not going to choke them. the ID of the inlets are just about the same as the ID of the stock intake piping, the difference is academic. so i want to keep that the same throughout. im open to suggestions on other alternatives though.

oh and any tampa z'ers reading this I wouldn't mind some company/help (hi musashi sword), it gets lonely in that storage unit. the unit next door is a rock band that uses it for practice but i havent seen them lately.

much love and respect goes out to all z'ers, dont give up! you're not alone out there.
